Sri Lanka Association of New York (SLANY), the oldest Sri Lankan association in the United States is a community organization that serves the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The association was established in 1970 to promote the general welfare of Sri Lankans residing in the United States of America and those interested in the nation of Sri Lanka, to establish a meeting ground and foster social activities in the community. SLANY further provides an active and enduring interest in Sri Lanka by providing historical, cultural, religious and other non-political information.
